Roblox is well-known for its kind and welcoming online community. No matter the experience—FPS, roleplay, simulator—the Metaverse is a blast with your best friends. But sometimes all you want is to complete some obbies by yourself, no interruption. In that case, you’ll need to know how to appear offline.
The “Appear Offline” feature has not yet been implemented by Roblox as of July 27, 2021. But it appears the company is hard at work coding the feature into the platform’s settings. According to RBXNews on Twitter, all players will be able to toggle themselves online or offline in the near future.
The image above is a screenshot of a user’s Privacy Settings depicting two unreleased features: Voice Chat (18+) and Appear Offline. Neither of these are live, but it’s well known that Roblox plans to add them for users soon.
Appearing offline is a visibility feature used across many online video games. When toggled on, the feature will show that you are offline to all users, including players on your friends list. On Roblox, it appears the slider will only remain active for 12 hours. After 12 hours, the Appear Offline setting will switch off, thus making the player visible to all users. This should help prevent players from forgetting that they enabled the Appear Offline setting in the first place.
When the Appear Offline setting officially goes live on Roblox, we’ll be sure to update this page.
