ARK: Survival Evolved is a hefty game. With a huge open world and online multiplayer components, this game understandably takes up a lot of storage space. Players on console/PC are looking at an easy +100 GB of storage space required to download, and that’s simply the base game. With DLCs, maps, and other features included, the game can be nearly 300 GB. The game is also available for iOS and Android mobile devices but, for obvious reasons, will come with a far smaller download size of about 2 GB.

Why does ARK: Survival Evolved require so much storage?

ARK: Survival Evolved is a massive game in general. With tons of things to do, a huge map to explore, and other players running around (if playing online multiplayer), it makes sense that this game would take up a lot of storage space on a player’s platform of choice.

ARK has multiple expansion packs and expansion maps that players can download. These all contribute to the huge download size of the game, but they are essential if players want to experience all there is to offer in ARK: Survival Evolved.
