Animal Crossing: New Horizons released a new festive seasonal crafting material just in time for Christmas: Ornaments. There are 3 different colored Ornaments that you can collect to craft with in total and loads of different things you can make with them. However, getting these Ornaments isn’t really explained well in the game at all. You can only collect Ornaments during the Festive Season between December 15th and January 6th on the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Get Ornaments
Once it gets closer to Christmas, you should notice that some of the tall pine trees on your island are decorated for Christmas! In order to collect Ornaments, you’ll need to shake these decorated pine trees. You will know that you’ve found the correct trees when you bump into them. You should hear the sound of ornaments shaking around.
When you shake decorated pine trees in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, they have a chance to drop:
- Blue Ornament
- Red Ornament
- Gold Ornament
During other seasons, the special trees also have a chance to drop tree branches that are entirely useless, but we don’t have to worry about that with the festive season. This makes it pretty easy to collect the Ornaments we need quickly.
Crafting with Ornaments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Once you’ve collected a decent amount of Ornaments from decorated pine trees, it’s time to start shooting down flying present balloons from the sky. When you do this, you have a chance of finding different DIY Crafting Recipes that use the Ornaments you’ve been collecting.
