Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have various types of Pokéballs that will perform better when trying to catch certain Pokémon. Unlike the Master Ball, which has a 100 percent catch rate, these unique Pokéballs, like Love Balls, have an increased catch rate. What do Love Balls do in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Love Balls are a special type of Pokéball that perform better against Pokémon that are the opposite gender of your Pokémon. This means if your lead Pokémon in battle is male, Love Balls will have an increased capture rate against female Pokémon, and vice versa. If you want this type of Pokéball, you cannot buy them from Delibird Presents stores.
Where to find Love Balls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
You can only get Love Balls from the Porto Marinada Market, not the Delibird Presents stores throughout Paldea. They will be up for bid once you have cleared the Cascarrafa Gym Challenge and registered enough Pokémon in your Pokédex.
They can also be earned as a reward from the Academy Ace Tournament. Once you have defeated all eight gyms in the Victory Road path, this is unlocked. Love Balls are one of the many random rewards you can get through the Academy Ace Tournament in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but they are less common than other rewards.
