Pokemon Masters will challenge you to build teams of famous Trainers, and their Pokemon, to engage in 3v3 battles as you attempt to win the Pokemon Masters League on the island of Pasio. It will be up to you to collect the strongest Trainers you can, and their signature Pokemon, and level them all up. You will need to find the best combinations for your team, and battle your way to the top.

How Battles Work In Pokemon Masters

In Pokemon Masters, battles take place in real-time, rather than a turn-based system. They are 3v3, consisting of Sync Pairs. Sync Pairs are a Trainer and their signature Pokemon. Another new feature of Pokemon Masters is that Trainers will also have moves! These will often consist of heals or buffs for their Pokemon.

Battles are dictated by a Move Gauge, which will fill up as the battle goes on. When the Move Gauge is full, you will be able to choose one of your Sync Pairs to take action. You can select either your Pokemon or your Trainer, to take that action, depending on what moves they have available. Each Pokemon will have up to four moves that you can choose from, but slots for a battle will be shared between the Pokemon and their Trainer.

Each move will also have an Energy cost, taken from the Pokemon or Trainers Energy gauge. This will stop people from simply spamming a single move throughout the battle if the energy cost is very high. It will be up to you to choose your move order, which Pokemon and Trainers will take actions, and which moves they will use. You will need to make sure you are attacking enemy Sync Pairs with moves that they are weak to, just like a standard Pokemon game.

Once you have defeated enemy Trainers, they may ask to join your team, giving you even more options for your next 3v3 battle.
