Remember the popular 3DCG movie Hotel Transylvania? Publisher Outright Games and developer Drakhar Studio have announced that they will be releasing Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. It will be a 3D platform adventure title based around the movie, and it’s launching in October. The Madrid-based developer previously worked on the low-rated platformer Ginger: Beyond the Crystal.
Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures is said to feature fan-favorite playable characters like Count Dracula and his daughter Mavis with reimagined fairy tale stories such as Little Red Riding Hood and The Emperor’s New Clothes. It doesn’t seem it will follow the movie’s fourth installment storyline but the 30-seconds teaser trailer hasn’t shown anything resembling gameplay or a sneak peek at the twist of classic fairy tales anyway.
Outright Games CEO Terry Malham is hoping that Hotel Transylvania: Scary-Tale Adventures will be a perfect title to get to spice up the Halloween spirit and will reveal more about it in the coming months.
Funny enough while writing this I just learned that the cartoon series actually has had several video game adaptations with different genres:
- Hotel Transylvania Social Game (2012) on Facebook, where you make your own hotel.
- Hotel Transylvania (2012) for DS and 3DS, a platformer where you play as Mavis.
- Hotel Transylvania Dash (2012) for iOS, which was just a reskin of Hotel Dash.
- Hotel Transylvania Popstic (2018), a PC VR rhythm game
- And Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard (2018) for consoles and PC, a weird time-based adventure title of some sort.
