It seems like a bit of a trend to be putting console exclusives onto PC lately. There were rumors of Bloodborne to PC previously, and we recently got Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human. That’s not even mentioning the elephant in the room, Halo: The Master Chief Collection. It’s been a real treat to have them come to PC and to finally be able to play them, and I genuinely hope that trend continues. Thankfully, today looks to properly continue that trend. Following several rumors and an official announcement, developer Guerilla has announced that their game Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The title will be available to play starting August 7th, but you can pre-purchase the game right now.

Horizon Zero Dawn puts you in the shoes of Aloy, a young hunter who’s an outcast of her tribe. This world’s much different than ours though, with mechanical beasts roaming about asking to be hunted. Armed with her bow and various tools, Aloy must travel this future Earth and take down a myriad of machines. Along her quest, she’ll discover secrets about herself and the world around her to eventually stop a catastrophic threat. The world is stacked against her, but are you ready to take on her quest? It’s available for $49.99 to pre-purchase right now.

As mentioned previously, Horizon Zero Dawn was exclusive to the PlayStation 4. It originally released back in February of 2017 to high critical acclaim. Destructoid praised the title for its “captivating consistency” in narrative and action along with the traversal aspect growing as the game progressed. We even reviewed the title, praising it for having an excellent protagonist and a rich world. If you’re like me and haven’t gotten the chance to play Horizon Zero Dawn, here would be the best place to start.

We’d love to hear your thoughts though. What do you think of all these titles coming to PC from their respective consoles, including Horizon Zero Dawn? Any that you’ve played so far and enjoyed? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
