Finally, one of the first big games of PlayStation exclusive was released, and it is fun, engaging, and sometimes brutal. Horizon: Forbidden West is the sequel of 2017’s Zero Dawn that astonished everyone. With the game, everything’s scale got larger, especially the map and the robotic monsters you fight during your adventures. This means you need to regularly save the game manually to avoid losing all your progress because of fall damage or some mistake. So here is how to save manually in Horizon: Forbidden West.

One of the major things that would make you angry in a big adventure game like Horizon is to lose all your progress because you didn’t go to a point where autosave would save the game. This can be really frustrating in case you are searching for collectible items or simply going for a trophy hunt. In these cases, you want to save the game every step of the way.

How To Save Manually in Horizon Forbidden West

Fortunately, Horizon Forbidden West automatically saves most of your progress, but in case you want to double-check so you wouldn’t have to go through all that way again, you can always manually save the game. The first thing you want to do is to find a campfire. As you progress through the Forbidden West, you will unlock more campfires that you can fast travel to.

Horizon Forbidden West – Should You Play in Explorer or Guided Mode?

The icon of campfires on the map is flame and crossed sticks, in case you didn’t know. Once you go to a campfire, you will see the options of Quick Save and Manual Save. If you want to quickly save the game and continue your adventure, simply press the Triangle button. But if you want to manually save the game in a different save spot, press the Square button.

Horizon: Forbidden West is now available on PS4 and PS5.
