Automotive manufacturers invest big money and spend time on their entertainment systems. Some of them have attractive solutions, like Tesla. The company brought games to let you use the steering wheel to play. But none of these became a reason to make you get in the car to have fun. Well, the jokes are serious ideas now. Sony and Honda want to put PlayStation 5 consoles into the vehicles’ as the entertainment system. Game consoles are designed to be the entertainment system of houses. But the company looks decisive about researching this exciting idea.

We’ve seen folks connecting their consoles to their cars. But as their design suggests, the consoles aren’t comfortable and safe to play games in a car. Honda and Sony have a fresh partnership, and they might find a way to bring the PlayStation 5 experience to vehicles. Thousands of gamers will undoubtedly buy their next car from Honda if that happens.

Honda Plans To Stick PlayStation 5 Inside Cars

Sony and Honda had a strong partnership by founding Sony Honda Mobility. According to IGN, the company president and COO Kawanishi explained what they want to do: “Sony has content, services, and entertainment technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobility, and this is our strength against Tesla.”

Tesla has a robust entertainment system, but not as Sony Honda Mobility’s potential. The company might develop a rich entertainment environment that could fit well with the vehicles. But there’s a big question, is it safe? Or even necessary? Because the driver might get distracted while the passengers play. Considering this risk, the entertainment system might only be available when the car is motionless. If the games will be playable only when the vehicle is motionless, though this is the safest way, then why would people get into a car instead of playing at home? There are many questions about Honda’s attractions, and we want to see a solid solution.
