According to IGN, the company president and COO Kawanishi explained what they want to do: “Sony has content, services, and entertainment technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobility, and this is our strength against Tesla.”
Tesla has a robust entertainment system, but not as Sony Honda Mobility’s potential. The company might develop a rich entertainment environment that could fit well with the vehicles. But there’s a big question, is it safe? Or even necessary? Because the driver might get distracted while the passengers play. Considering this risk, the entertainment system might only be available when the car is motionless. If the games will be playable only when the vehicle is motionless, though this is the safest way, then why would people get into a car instead of playing at home?
