Homeworld is being created into a tabletop roleplaying game called Homeworld: Revelations. It’s being created by Modiphius Entertainment, the team behind Fallout: Wasteland Warfare and the Elder Scrolls RPG.

This is the 20th anniversary of Homeworld’s original release on the PC back in 1999. Back then the game was developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sierra Studios. While today, the Homeworld franchise is owned by the creators of Borderlands, Gearbox, with a sequel being developed by Blackbird Interactive.

Homeworld is a real-time strategy video game set in space. It follows the story of the Kushan, a group of exiles who witnessed the destruction of their planet by the Taiidan Empire. The story revolves around the Kushan as they collect resources and build a fleet of starships to become strong enough to take down the Taiidan.

Revelations will allow players to view the universe in a new and exciting way they weren’t able to in the video games. Players are members aboard one of the Kushan’s fleet ships and can decide to join Mothership, the massive space station where survivors of the planet’s annihilation live, or choose to re-establish their homeworld.

Joining the crew at Modiphius to help consult and write lore for the RPG is Martin Cirulis, one of the original writers of Homeworld.

Modiphius promised more details about Homeworld: Revelations are coming in 2020.
