It seems Hogwarts Legacy release date is set after the screening of Fantastic Beast: The Secrets of Dumbledore in 2022.
Rachel Wakley, Warner Bros. General Manager in an interview with Toy World magazine hinted that Hogwarts Legacy, the anticipated action RPG set in the world of Harry Potter, will probably launch after the theatrical release of Fantastic Beast 3.
In the interview, Wakley pointed to “two major releases” in 2022 with the first being the Fantastic Beasts film. Although she didn’t mention an exact date for Hogwarts Legacy, it will probably be launched after April, since Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore was moved up. Chris Columbus, the director of first two movies of Harry Potter, recently mentioned his interest in making a film based on the Cursed Child play.
“The second major release of 2022 will be for a new console game: Hogwarts Legacy,” Wakley told the publication. “The reaction to the trailer has been amazing and it looks set to be a huge success. We know that gaming is such an important part of the market and one that we had to be involved in. From what we’ve seen, the launch will be well worth the wait and will deliver a unique way for fans to interact with the franchise.”
Hogwarts Legacy is in development at Portkey Games, Warner Bros. Harry Potter game development branch, and Avalanche Software was first announced last year at the PS5 event. The game was supposed to be released in 2021 as the reveal trailer mentioned but the Hogwarts Legacy release date changed to an uncertain date in 2022.
Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the world of Harry Potter. This game has nothing to do with the legendary story of The Boy Who Lived and is set in the 1800s. Warner Bros. promised an immersive wizardry experience through Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
