Hogwarts Legacy, an open-world adventure game set in the Harry Potter universe, released a new trailer on Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live at Gamescom 2022. Sebastian Sallow’s Dark Legacy trailer shows off the Unforgivable Curses and difficult dilemmas that players will encounter as they uncover the mystery of the Sallow family and choose whether to use or even embrace them.

Hogwarts Legacy New Trailer Shows Dark Arts and Zombies

The Hogwarts Legacy trailer was unveiled during today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live event, which Geoff Keighley hosted. It doesn’t offer much in the way of gameplay. However, it gives us a sneak peek at magic.

The trailer’s focus is the dark arts, a type of magic banned but in which players will supposedly become specialists (against the wishes of your professor). In the Gamescom trailer, the player is shown casting Crucio, also known as the Cruciatus Curse, in the wizarding community. As the name suggests, Crucio is a curse that permits you to torment whoever or anything you put it on.

Warner Bros. and Portkey Games delayed Hogwarts Legacy for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC to February 10, 2023. “The team is excited for you to play, but we need a little more time to deliver the best possible game experience,” the company said in a tweet.

Hogwarts Legacy is also granting some players early access. Starting August 25, Hogwarts Legacy will be available for pre-order. You’ll need to buy the new game’s Digital Deluxe Edition if you want to beat the crowd on February 7, 2023.

“Should you choose to befriend Slytherin student Sebastian Sallow, you will be faced with the decision to embrace or reject the Dark Arts as you uncover his family’s mystery through his companion quest line,” the trailer’s description reads.

Hogwarts Legacy will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 10, 2023.
