Two classic stealth games are now available DRM free.
GOG and IO Interactive have jointly announced that two new games are now available on GOG.com, and it’s none other than two classic stealth games from the same franchise, Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution. For fans of the series, new and old, you owe it to yourself play through these two entries.
Blood Money was at one point considered the best Hitman game out there. In fact, it was this game that had a major influence on the 2016 reboot and it’s sequel. Agent 47 travels the world assassinating targets for his organization utilizing the environment and any items he finds in the immediate area. It introduced many elements found in later games such as better climbing, the ability to dispose of bodies, upgrading your equipment, and making the targets death look like an accident.
Absolution is a direct sequel, continuing the story from Blood Money. While all of the features carry over, the open world aspect is traded out for a linear progression style of play. Instead of accepting assignments for new targets, 47 is now on the run from his old employer while also tracking down another sinister corporation with evil intentions. Despite this major change, the core stealth gameplay is still intact, and it also introduced the now popular online mode, Contracts.
To celebrate the release of the two games on their storefront, GOG is promoting some of the Hitman games with huge discounts. Blood Money and Absolution are both on sale for only $2.49 and $4.99 respectively. This sale goes until next Thursday, April 11, making this the best time to check out these Hitman titles.
