So much news came from the latest Nintendo Direct this week that it’s hard to cover it all. Most PVP-centric gamers were cheering after the announcement of an Overwatch port for the Nintendo Switch. However, there was another title that turned some heads: Rogue Company.

Rogue Company Details

Developer Hi-Rez Studios, known for hit games such as Paladins and Smite, is bringing a new PVP experience to consoles. Though originally announced during the latest Nintendo Direct, the title is coming to all platforms. An elite unit of mercenaries, the members of Rogue Company operate in the shadows. The group undertakes important missions worldwide, using their unique skills to accomplish their missions. Players take control of one of the operatives and team up to fight an opposing squad in various versus modes.

While Rogue Company seems like a battle royale, the 5v5 PVP game uses more of a class-based system. Players will drop into a location and proceed to battle the enemy team. The trailer shows multiple characters with different weapons and gear. Equipment showcased in the trailer include firearms, swords, and drones.

Though no information has been released regarding the operatives or their unique abilities, there is one thing that Hi-Rez Studios wants to emphasize: cross-play. Nintendo Switch players can match their skills with PlayStation, Xbox, and PC gamers. In addition, the game features cross-progression. For those who do not know, this system allows you to use the same account across multiple platforms, retaining any progress or purchases made.
