Apple unveiled the latest iteration of its mobile operating system, iOS 16, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2022). It seems like a step in the right direction, bringing further improvements to SharePlay, a customizable lock screen, revamped native apps, and much more to iPhone users. Thanks to the laundry list of cool features, many of you might be eager to install and test out iOS 16 on your iPhones. But before you do that, you would be wondering whether your iPhone supports iOS 16 or not, especially those with older models. To put an end to the confusion, we have compiled a complete list of iOS 16 supported devices.
In what would come as a shock to many users, Apple has removed not just the iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and the original iPhone SE (2016) but also the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus from the list of iOS 16 compatible devices. It had been widely reported that iPhone 7 series would be able to run iOS 16, but that isn’t the case officially. Check out the complete list of iOS 16 supported devices right here:

Currently, Apple has just released the iOS 16 developer beta for testing, while the public beta is likely to arrive in early July. After rigorous beta testing, Apple will roll out iOS 16 publicly this fall – most probably in the second week of September.
Now, you most probably be wondering whether or not you should install the iOS 16 beta on your supported device. While it’s cool to be in the hot seat and try the new features before a majority of the users, you should proceed with caution. Moreover, you should keep in mind the developer builds can be chock full of bugs and issues that may get annoying over time.
Another thing you should do without fail is to install the iOS 16 beta on a secondary iPhone. Yeah, we suggest you avoid putting your daily driver at risk. Things like random rebooting, battery drain, and app crashing might impact your day-to-day usage. Thus, find a secondary iPhone (if available) to test the iOS 16 developer beta.
