Pokémon Sword and Shield are out in the wild and ready to be captured by trainers. The game features 94 new Pokémon to train and battle on your journey through the Galar region: an area based off of the United Kingdom. While areas linked to our world are not a new idea; previous games saw trainers traveling through other familiar regions such as Hawaii for Sun and Moon and Japan for Johto. But none have yet to take place in Australia, until now.

With the eighth generation release of Sword and Shield, artist VivinkArt designed a sort of homebrew game that takes place in the Outback. The two games are called Pokémon Yeah and Nah and include several new creatures based off of actual animals in Australia.
Trainers can choose to roam the Straya region as Bruce or Shella as they try to be the best like no one ever was. The region also features the perfect professor to help them through their journey. The crocodile hunter himself, Professor Steve Irwin, investigates all things Pokémon related in the Straya region.

Like with every game in the series, Professor Irwin will guide trainers by letting them begin their journey by choosing a starter Pokémon. The three for Yeah and Nah are the kangaroo and grass type Skippee, the fire snake Pokémon Scorcht, and the absolutely adorable platypus and water type Pladdle.
Altogether, there are 37 different types of Pokémon with their own unique and amazing art. From koalas, deadly spiders, shrimp, crocodiles, and quolls, there are dozens of creatures to capture. To see them all and more art of the Straya region, check out VivinkArt’s Twitter.
