The Man of Steel is back in the sky. In an Instagram video (seen below), Henry Cavill made it official that he is back as Superman and teased that more DC movies are coming. This comes off his first appearance since Justice League for the Black Adam post-credits scene. He called that brief appearance “a very small taste of what’s to come.” He also thanked the fans for their “support and patience.”
DC is still up in the air with what’s to come in the future. Henry Cavill, as Superman, establishes that not everything will be changed once The Flash resets the DCEU to a clean slate. No films have been announced with him.

Black Adam was released last week. Before the film hit wider audiences, in an interview, Dwayne Johnson teased this decision and said, “welcome home” to the Mission: Impossible: Fallout star. The idea was rejected by DC boss Walter Hamada. Michael De Luca, Pamela Abdy, and Dany Garcia worked with Johnson to make it work by going behind Hamada’s back.

Henry Cavill made his debut as Superman in Man of Steel in 2013 after nearly missing the call for the role as he was busy playing World of Warcraft. He was in Batman v. Superman and both cuts of Justice League. Since then, the caped hero has been missing from the universe. A shadowy Justice League made an appearance in Peacemaker, with Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa being the only ones being seen. During his absence, he said how he has been open to the idea of returning.
If you want that taste of his return, you can watch Black Adam for the brief scene after the credits. For what it sets up for the future is uncertain, with so many questions still floating for the DCEU.
