Guitar Hero Live has been getting regular new content since the game launched in October of this year, but the latest addition to the game will aim to make things more competitive. Developer FreeStyleGames has added Rival Challenges to the game’s Guitar Hero TV mode, which is essentially a series of playable music video TV channels within the game.

How Rival Challenges work is if you’re level 10 or higher you’ll be matched up with players of a similar skill level in a head-to-head battle. Twice during every 30-minute slot of Guitar Hero TV you will be matched against a random player online and will be able to see each other’s name and note highway side-by-side on the screen. To make matters even better, the winner of the random match-up receives an additional 100 XP.

Another minor addition to the game is that logging in once a day while having none of Guitar Hero TV’s currency called plays will now get you 3 of them for free. You will also be able to mark a song you’ve played as a “favorite”, allowing you to revisit the songs you like the most. Full details on latest update can be found right here.
