Fans have known for a while now that the final season of the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones, will premiere sometime in April 2019. Now, we have an official premiere date. April 14th. The announcement came with this teaser trailer:

This teaser above was revealed just ahead of the True Detective season three premiere.

The trailer showed Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, and Arya Stark as they trekked throughout the crypt in Winterfell. After walking past statues of their family, the three Starks found themselves staring at statues of their own. As soon as they take a look at the statues, the room goes dark and everything begins to freeze.

Not much is known about how the final season will go down, other than a few teases from the actors involved. Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister, spoke with Entertainment Tonight a few months ago and had this to say:

Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, talked to E News about the final season. She said:

It seems that we are in store for a bittersweet ending, at best.
