Halo Infinite will be getting cross-platform and cross-progression between Xbox and PC, Microsoft has confirmed. As can be seen in the Xbox Wire post released today, the goal is to, amongst other things, “build communities around games and not devices”. Here’s what Head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, had to say on the subject:

When it comes to the PC experience, Matt Botty had this to add:

Lovers of the franchise should also be assured by his words regarding cloud-based gaming:

We all hate that scenario in which we don’t get to play with our friends or loved ones because of platform differences. This should remedy such problems, and for the most part, should be considered a good thing. Multiplayer problems aside, it is at least good news that it will still be free-to-play.

In other news, Miles Morales faces a clone of his own in this latest issue and, Bryan Talbot’s Luther Arkwright will be adapted as a live-action series.
