While Halo Infinite’s release may be in limbo for the time being, 343’s latest installment is looking great. New concept art is giving fans a first look at a brand new enemy Master Chief will encounter as well as what the Mjolnir Mark VII armor looks like. The art was revealed on the Halo Waypoint website. The first pictures we get are from concept artist David Heidhoff who is rather familiar with the Halo universe as he created the art featured in Halo 5: Guardians.
One of the newest elite units joining the Banished is Jega ‘Rdomnai. Jega dons black armor that resembles some sort of mechanized suit. While this is just speculation, it may actually be the elite’s form of the Mjolnir armor Spartans wear. Jega also comes equipped with a red plasma sword.
The next piece of concept art, from Isaac Hannaford, featured is the Mark VII Mjolnir armor Spartans will wear in Halo Infinite. It is unclear if John 117 will be donning the suit, but there was also new information released about the newest Spartan armor. It seems that some aspects of the suit aren’t quite finished yet as a few elements remain in the prototype stage. One of which is some sort of integration of Forerunner nanomachine technology and full shield-shaping. Both of which sound absolutely amazing.
In hushed whispers throughout the ranks of the Banished, Jega ‘Rdomnai’s name is spoken of with care. The blademaster’s history is shrouded in rumor and half-truths. Some say he was an experiment, an affront to his own kind. Others make mention of a clandestine ambush gone wrong. Very few know the truth, fewer still speak of it. One thing is certain: he has hunted demons before, and as the first recruit welcomed into the Hand of Atriox, he will do so again.”
Created with input from Dr. Halsey herself, the latest Mark VII iteration refreshes the Mjolnir technical architecture with breakthroughs in neural interfaces, shield emitters, fusion power, and armor formulation. The Mark VII designation refers to a number of prototype platforms that test the ever-evolving Mjolnir Generation 3 standard. The most recent design to bear the name was selected by Dr. Halsey from Materials Group’s KEYSTONE development program.”
