Monster Energy has partnered with Microsoft to release Halo branded Monster Energy drinks that can soon be redeemed for double XP when Halo Infinite releases next year.

Leaks of the Halo branded Monster Energy first surfaced weeks ago when Halo_Collector posted an image on Instagram and Twitter of a Halo branded Monster Energy can. The image includes a QR code for a Halo alternate reality experience within Snapchat, and the ability to unlock “2XP” in Halo Infinite, which one imagines really means double XP. The press release from today confirmed the cans will offer double XP in Halo Infinite, and also relieved some concern that the printed expiration date of Dec. 31, 2020 would keep fans from receiving their promised prize now that Halo Infinite has been delayed.

The rewards from these cans can be redeemed here from Sept. 1 through the end of the year, with the virtual rewards being banked until Halo Infinite releases next year. Just be sure to hold onto your receipts, as those need to be scanned too.

The Halo branded Monster Energy cans don’t only offer double XP and an AR experience in Snapchat. Each can also gives a chance at one of 10 grand prizes, or one of 200 Xbox Series X consoles. The grand prize is an all-expense paid trip for two to Paris and $1,000.

Halo branded Monster Energy

This isn’t the first time Monster Energy has partnered with Halo, as the pair of companies put together a sweepstakes in 2011 with the release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. Between then and now Monster has worked on other promotions within video games, such as when Assassin’s Creed: Origins released, or as can be seen throughout Death Stranding.

Microsoft has partnered with other drink manufacturers for Halo as well, going back to Halo 3. In 2007 a Halo branded Mountain Dew Game Fuel was announced to promote the release of Halo 3.
