The G-Man from Half-Life has spoken once again, delivered in his usual uneasy tone and style. The video was posted on Twitter by G-Man’s voice actor, Mike Shapiro:

If you are not somewhere you can listen to the video, or are simply too freaked out by it then here is what he had to say:

The G-Man (Government man) is described as a “sinister interdimensional bureaucrat,” with inhuman powers. It is likely he features prominently in the upcoming virtual reality game, Half-Life: Alyx. He did pop up very briefly during the trailer.

Half-Life: Alyx serves as a prequel to Half-Life 2, and is the first new game in the series since 2007. The game features everything that made people love the original games, physics-based combat, exploration, and puzzles. Although there has been some concern from fans that restricting it to VR is a wrong move, as it is still not a mature market, and could push some fans out of the series.

Many critics describe Half-Life as revolutionary, stating that it would change how first-person shooters would be forever. Meanwhile, fans described how impressed they were by the seamless integration of cutscenes into the game, and the ability to talk to so many NPCs made the game stand out above the competition. I would have been about six years old when the original Half-Life was released, so I did not have much of an opinion on it.

Half-Life 2 was praised mainly on the physics aspects of the game as well as the top-end graphics.

The Half-Life series has been a fan favorite for many years; it has spawned films, game mods, and even whole games.

Half-Life: Alyx is set to launch in March 2020.
