The release date for GTA V has yet to be confirmed, but a recent press showing of the game could hold the all-important launch date for the sequel. We know Rockstar is getting ready to draw back the curtain on Grand Theft Auto V, with Game Informer set to reveal the game in full in its December issue. However, from a business standpoint, one analyst believes that GTA V will arrive by March 31st at the very latest, and possibly sooner.

In a recent interview with Now Gamer, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Securities explained his theory on the release date for GTA V.

“Take Two is on the hook to deliver over a billion dollars in revenue,” said Pachter. Their fiscal year ends March 31, so they pretty much have to bring the game out by March 31. I would say a March launch is more likely than May and knowing the Rockstar guys, I wouldn’t rule out a December 2012 launch. You just don’t know with these guys, they could announce next week that GTA is coming out December 20th, I think it would be stupid, but they could do it.”

“I honestly think the Rockstar guys could bring it out before Christmas if they wanted to and they could announce next week that it’s coming out December 9th, and then Game Informer cover would get a lot of publicity, but my guess is that it’s coming out March. That gives them four full months to promote it.”
