UPDATE: It seems that Nvidia has retracted their previous statement, says an Nvidia spokeperson:

“Please note, during our Thursday’s earnings call, our investor relations team provided a list of important games that gamers are looking forward to on PC this fall, and included Grand Theft Auto V on that list.

“This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by Nvidia. Nvidia does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error.”

Whether they can be believed is up to you.

Previous Story:

It seems that PC players can still have some hope for GTA V coming to them in the near future. Although Rockstar developers and executives are keeping mum about any potential Windows port, it appears their cover has been blown, by an Nvidia exec.

In a recent Nvidia earnings conference call on August 8th, a “prepared remark” by the Senior Director of Investor Relations in regards to their projections for gaming PC sales stated:

“Gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV.”

Perhaps the folks at Nvidia know something that the rest of us don’t. And it isn’t like this was just some spontaneous utterance of a video game off the top of his head, this was a prepared speech for an important conference call.

It would make sense that GTA V comes out on PC, for every single previous title has been on PC except for Chinatown Wars, which was a portable exclusive. In fact, in all of Rockstar’s history pretty much all of the open-world games, that they are famous for, have been published on to PC except for Red Dead Redemption.

With all this knowledge in mind, a PC gamer can still hope.
