One of the big changes in the Grounded Shroom and Doom update is the addition of Mushroom Bricks. This sturdy base building material can be used to create a variety of base walls, doors, and supports. It is one of the two recipes that can be made in the newly added Oven in Grounded.

Mushroom bricks are also an essential ingredient in the construction of a Pet House, something you will need if you want to manage and take care of the pets you tame on your journey through the backyard. While mushrooms are more than abundant in the new update, making bricks does take a little bit more know-how. Here is how to make Mushroom Bricks in Grounded.

Before We Get to Brick Making

Before we even touch a mushroom there are a couple of things that need to be taken care of. First, you will need both a Grinder and an Oven. The recipes for these can be unlocked by obtaining the BURG.L Chip from the Haze Lab. This lab is located in the Haze biome which sits in the southwest region of the map. Make sure you craft a Gas Mask before embarking on this journey!

Once you have gotten the chip, return it to BURG.L and purchase the Advanced Production Buildings upgrade. This upgrade costs 4,000 Raw Science. You will now be able to craft the Grinder and Oven, the recipes for which are as follows:

Grinder

  • 2 Crow Feather Pieces
  • 2 Acorn Shells
  • 3 Flower Petals
  • 5 Bombardier Parts

Oven

  • 10 Clay
  • 1 Charcoal Chunk
  • 4 Boiling Glands

How to Make Mushroom Bricks

Once you have made yourself both an Oven and a Grinder then you are ready to make your Mushroom Bricks. The recipe for Mushroom Bricks is unlocked by creating a Mushroom Slurry – another addition with the Shroom and Doom update to Grounded. This involves feeding Mushroom Chunks or Mushrooms into your newly acquired Grinder.

From there you will need to place the Slurries into the oven and let them cook. Five Slurries are needed for each Mushroom Brick. There is no additional recipe necessary for the bricks themselves and the Oven will complete the final step to get you Mushroom Bricks, one of the toughest materials thus far in Grounded. Have fun building your mushroom castle!

Grounded is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
