Fresh Storage is a refrigerator-esque storage unit in Grounded that prevents raw and cooked food from spoiling. Previous to the introduction of this item, maintaining food freshness was a challenge, as players had to constantly forage for sustenance or cook meals that had to be eaten quickly. However, Fresh Storage now removes this inconvenience entirely, allowing players to store up to 20 slots of food in their new fridge. The blueprint for the Fresh Storage unit becomes available after players discover the Frostbitten Recipe, a research note in Grounded located within the treacherous Undershed Lab, the final laboratory dungeon of the game.

Building Fresh Storage In Grounded

To build Fresh Storage, survivors will need the following materials: Pinecone Pieces in Grounded ×5, Mint Shards ×5, and Black Ant Parts ×5. Each of these items is a tricky resource and can be quite challenging to obtain without the proper knowledge of their location and obtainment process.

Where to Find Flower Petals in Grounded

Below is an index of where each item for building Fresh Storage can be found, including details on how the resource can be collected. It should be noted that much of the information provided is based on the findings by Grounded Wiki.

Grounded is available for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

  • Pinecone Pieces come from harvestable Pinecones found in the northeastern corner of the yard’s map.
  • To collect the pieces from the Pinecones, players will need the Tier-3 Black Ox Hammer.
  • The Black Ox Hammer is a tool crafted from Pupa Leather and parts of the Black Ox Beetle, both of which can be found in the Shed Surroundings.

(Ice Caps Mints)

  • Mint Shards can be collected from Ice Caps Mint nodes found across the Backyard, with the Ice Caps Mints landmark being a notable location.

  • Players can harvest Mint Shards using the Tier-2 Insect Hammer, which is crafted using Stinkbug Parts, Berry Leather, and a Boiling Gland.

  • Black Ant Parts are obtained from Black Ant variants, including the Worker and Soldier Ants.

  • Black Worker Ants are easier to kill but still much tougher than Red Soldier Ants.

  • Black Worker Ants are weak to the Spicy element, with their Eyes being highly vulnerable to Stabbing damage.
