Green Lantern: Blackstars Erases Green Lantern Corps
The Green Lantern #12 will lead into Green Lantern: Blackstars, a three-issue miniseries. Subsequently, Blackstars will explore the universe spawned in the wake of a fateful decision by Hal Jordan. Jordan’s actions while investigating the Blackstars in the current The Green Lantern series will rewrite history. As a result, Hal is a member of the spacefaring Blackstars group that has consolidated power throughout the universe. The Green Lantern Corps does not exist anymore. Consequently, the new police force has taken advantage of the lack of opposition, enforcing their will in the name of peace.
The synopsis for the miniseries is as follows:
Grant Morrison teases that the story will set the groundwork for a Green Lantern-centric adventure releasing in 2020. The miniseries will feature three interconnecting covers for each issue. In addition, the first issue will receive a variant cover by Darick Robertson (Justice League, The Boys).
