Gran Turismo 6 may have just came last year, but talk has already started on Gran Turismo 7. Many expect the game to be released for the PS4 and will blow away it predecessors in every way possible.

Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi had a lot to say about Gran Turismo 7 during a new interview with Italian gaming website, Quattrroruote. He said “developing on PS3 was hard” simply because there was not enough memory for them to work with. They had to limit things they wanted to include. As for Gran Turismo 7, they will have loads of memory available that they can “exploit it easily”. He promised this memory will allow them to add things that weren’t possible before.

Speaking directly about Gran Turismo 7, he said the game will have “better graphics, better physics engine, smarter AI and more online options”. If there’s one thing to criticize about the Gran Turismo games, it’s that the AI isn’t aggressive enough. This is an area that I’m sure Polyphony Digital is looking to improve on. As for the physics engine, they usually tweak that for every game making sure it’s realistic, yet still easy enough for gamers to play.

He also mentioned they are working to upgrade the vehicle damage in Gran Turismo 7. Vehicle damage is obviously another area the series needs to improve on. If you are still playing Gran Turismo 6, you’ll be happy to know more updates are coming. Polyphony Digital has not abandoned that game yet.
