Sadly, in Gotham Knights, console players will not be experienced the performance mode. WB Games Montréal will kick out the title next week for all platforms, but it sounds like there will be some limitations on consoles. A while ago, Gotham Knights developer Fleur Martyr gave bad news and officially confirmed that the upcoming game will be capped at 30 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series XIS. At the same time, there will be no performance mode in Gotham Knights.
Gotham Knights Capped at 30 FPS on Consoles and No Performance Mode
There were rumors that Gotham Knights will be capped at 30 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series XIS. That means the title won’t offer performance mode. At the same time, players won’t be able to get a higher FPS. The game’s developer Fleur Martyr confirmed on an official Discord channel for the game (via Okami Games on Twitter) that the game will indeed be limited to 30 FPS on consoles with no option to change this.
Here’s Fleur Martyr’s statement:
“I know many of you are wondering about the availability of a performance mode for Gotham Knights on consoles. Due to the types of features, we have in our game, like providing a fully untethered co-op experience in our highly detailed open world, it’s not as straightforward as lowering the resolution and getting a higher FPS. For this reason, our game does not have a performance/quality toggle option and will run at 30 FPS on consoles.”
